Cathedral Colour Oil contains tung oil and other special formulated ingredients which will penetrate deep into your floor. It will dry to a hard, durable and water resistant seal. It does not leave a surface film to chip or scratch.

Preparation: The surface of the floor must be clean and sanded smooth. Oily floors such as Teak or Iroko may need to be wiped with white spirit prior to application. The Colour Oil can be mixed with the Natural Oil, the colour will then be a lighter shade.

Brush on and wipe off after a few minutes. After applying the Colour Oil, de-nibb the floor with some very fine sandpaper and apply three coats of Natural Oil. Allow the oil to dry between coats, normally four to eight hours, dependent upon temperature and humidity. Re-apply as required.

If the surface develops a slight gloss appearance this is because too much oil has been applied. This can be removed by rubbing with very fine sand paper and white spirit finishing off with a soft cloth.

One litre will cover approximately 10 - 14 sq. m in one coat depending upon the absorbency and grain structure of the wood. Clean brushes whilst wet with white spirit.

Important: Rags used for oiling must be laid out flat to dry or destroyed otherwise they may catch fire, due to spontaneous combustion.

Flammable: Keep out of reach of children. Keep container tightly closed. Keep away from sources of ignition. No smoking. Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking. Vapours may cause drowsiness and dizziness. Use only in well ventilated areas. Contains cobalt octoate, methyl ethyl ketoxime, naptha. May produce an allergic reaction.
